Available in Version 1.8. Only users with a role of Stores_Admin can update expiry dates. If you are unsure if you have this role please contact Datatecnix Support.


To update the expiry date for an individual serial number or a batch of serial numbers go to Stock > Serial Numbers.


Select the item code. In the lower grid you must apply a filter before attempting to update an expiry date.


Updating an individual expiry date


To update the expiry date of an individual serial number enter the serial number in the quick find box.



Click the Update Expiry Date(s) button.



Click the calendar and select a new expiry date then select Yes to 'Please Confirm Update'.


A message will be displayed informing you that once you have clicked OK the update cannot be reversed. 


Click OK to confirm the change.


A message will be displayed confirming the number of expiry date records that have been updated.



Updating multiple expiry dates


To update the expiry date for multiple serial numbers you must apply filters to the serial number grid. A filter can be applied on any of the following columns:


- Status 

- Size

- Registered

- Expiry Date - select this if you want to extend an expiry date

- Item Condition

- Warehouse

- Opex Batch ID 

- Supplier ref 

- Supplier


You can apply more than one filter. 


For example you may want to extend the expiry date for all serialised items that have been issued to officers. To do this add a filter to the Status column and add a filter to the expiry date column. 




Once you have added a filter(s) click the Update Expiry Date(s) button.


Click the calendar and select a new expiry date then select Yes to 'Please Confirm Update'.


A message will be displayed informing you that once you have clicked OK the update cannot be reversed. 


Click OK to confirm the change.


A message will be displayed confirming the number of expiry dates that have been updated.



When an expiry date is updated the system will a note to the serial number record. To view the note click the S (Select) button to the left of the serial number.
