OPEX provides Wait and Hold functions to allow the control of dispatch for related items. For example, if a Cap and Badge are ordered and the Cap is not in stock then it may be better to hold the dispatch of the Badge until the Cap is in stock.

Holding an Item

A requisition line that has been Allocated can be held using the Hold action. This can be done from the main Requisition Screen, or from the Requisitions > Store Approvals or the Requisitions > Picking screens.

To hold a line select it from the grid and click the Hold button. Then choose the line that is to be held for and press OK.

The status of the line will be changed to Line Held. When the line for which this line is being held for is processed then both lines will be progressed to the Allocation and Picking stages. You can also manually Complete a Held Line.

To cancel a held action click on the requisition line then click Cancel Hold.

Waiting an Item or Requisition

Using the Wait Line Action on a requisition line moves that item directly to the status of Out of Stock.

Using the Wait Action on the Requisition header moves all items ( including those that were Allocated) to a status of Out of Stock and returns any Allocated stock.

Wait Action means that if all lines on the requisition have been processed or are Out of Stock / Held then the requisition header will move to a status of Waiting.

The screen below shows the the Cap/Badge example above. If we move the requisition to a Picking stage then only the B/B502 badges would be picked.

We can use the Hold Action to hold the Badges on the screen above or below on the Requisitions > Store Approvals Screen.

We can Hold the badges and Wait the SQ item W/C001. This will have the effect of moving the requisition to a status of Waiting and the W/C001 requisition line will appear on the Requisitions > Out of Stock Screen, which will also show the items that are being Held for that requisition.

When stock arrives and the line for W/C001 is Completed both lines will be picked and dispatched.
